Register is where you set up your user name and password so that you can post to the forum. (You don't need to register to browse.) The more registered users we have, the better the forum community will be.
Profile is where you go if you want to make changes to your profile after you register.
Log in to check your private messages is where you go to read private messages (i.e., messages that others cannot see). When someone sends you a private message, you get a notice in your email that a message is waiting for you at the discussion forum. The sender never sees your email address. Even if you post your email address in your profile, if someone sends you an email through this site, they will never see your email address.)
